Advance Your Skills with Our Sea Kayaking Courses
The Level 3 Intermediate Sea Kayak Course is designed for passionate sea paddlers who are already familiar with the basics and want to take their skills to the next level. With the guidance of our experienced coaches, you’ll have the opportunity to explore more challenging conditions and sections of the coast, expanding your understanding of the sea.
We tailor each course to meet your individual needs and the goals of the group
However, a typical Level 3 course will cover:
- Personal skill development
- Rescue and emergency procedures
- Incident management
- Handling rough water and developing strategies
- Weather planning and navigation
- Equipment: what to bring, how to use it, and when to deploy it
Located in the heart of a renowned area for sea kayaking, we have direct access to the water and a wide range of conditions that allow us to tailor the course to meet the challenges we face. The Level 3 course is typically run in the autumn and winter months, during new moon or full moon phases, providing opportunities to explore exposed headlands and experience waves and tidal races. Additionally, we have access to one of the best locations in the Aeolian Islands to introduce you to surfing in a sea kayak.

Is This the Right Level for Me?
You should be a dedicated sea paddler, ideally already part of a kayak club. A reliable roll is not required, but you should be motivated to develop one. You should feel comfortable paddling in Force 4 winds (upwind speeds of 10 knots) and confident launching and landing through waves up to 1 metre
2-Day vs 4-Day Courses
Our standard 2-day course is packed with essential information and expert coaching to help you develop new skills and gain valuable knowledge. You’ll have the chance to enjoy classic sea kayaking around the beautiful island of Vulcano.
On our 4-day course, you’ll dive deeper into the world of sea kayaking. You’ll plan trips and launch from a variety of remote locations around both Vulcano and Lipari. Each day offers a unique experience that you’ll remember for years to come.
