An immersive 4-day sea kayaking adventure by Sea Kayak through the heart of the Aeolian Islands, combining exploration, coastal beauty, and the freedom of life outdoors. Over the first 3 days, we will explore Vulcano (circumnavigation with sea caves, natural pools, and thermal waters), paddle along Lipari’s western coast with its sea stacks, and reach the lush island of Salina, whose entire coastline we will explore between day 3 and 4.
Day 4 – two options:
Plan A (standard): return to Vulcano – either by kayak via Lipari’s eastern coast (if the full route has been completed) or by ferry (if we have only reached Salina by day 3).
Plan B (Stromboli extension – optional): instead of returning to Vulcano, the group moves by boat to Stromboli for an overnight stay. Circumnavigation of Stromboli by kayak and hike to the crater (weather and permits permitting). Return to Vulcano by boat on day 5: departure from Stromboli at 06:15, arrival in Vulcano at 10:40.
Important: the 4 paddling days remain the same but with a higher daily mileage. Plan B adds one extra night on Stromboli (and a ship transfer), making the total route over 60 nautical miles – more intense than Plan A (30-40 miles).
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner may be prepared and enjoyed on the beach (picnics or meals cooked on-site), or at local bars and restaurants along the way, depending on group preferences (Check out what’s included in the price). Overnight stays will be outdoors in bivouac (What to bring for multi-days trips), but upon request—even at the last minute and occasionally — participants may opt to sleep in B&Bs or hotels (not included in the price), depending on their needs.
Hiking:
In the afternoon, there’s the opportunity to hike active craters or explore other trekking trails on Vulcano and Salina (plan B + Stromboli), depending on weather and volcanic activity. This adds a unique touch to your active and adventurous holiday in Sicily.
